So can a Portable Power Station run a blender? A blender will require different power outputs depending on its capabilities and tasks at hand. To run a 400-watt blender you will need a 500-watt portable power station. This power station can run the blender for up to an hour. This could be more with the addition of a 200-watt solar panel.

What Size Portable power station to Run a Blender?

The first step in choosing a Portable Power Station for your appliance is identifying how much power your blender requires. The easiest way to do this is by looking at the wattage rating on the back of the appliance or its manual. Blender wattage depends on the motor’s power output. Most blenders are between 300 and 600 watts. More powerful ones can go up to 1000-watts.

So you will need to match the wattage of the blender to the power rating of the inverter of your power station. Note that you need an inverter that’s rated higher than your blender. For a 400-watt inverter you need an inverter that is at least 500 watts.

To run a 400-Watt Blender you’ll need a 500-Watt Portable power station.

How Long Will a 500-Watt Portable power station Run a Blender?

Electricity is typically measured in watt-hours (Wh). To calculate the watt-hours used by an appliance, you need to multiply the wattage of the appliance by the number of hours it is used. To run a blender for an hour you will need 400wh.

To calculate how long a power station will run an appliance we use the following formula:

Running Time = Portable power station Watt-hours/operating power of the device

For example to get the running time for a 400-watt blender

= (500*0.85)/400

= 1.06 hrs

A 500-watt portable power station will run the blender for around 30 minutes.

How Long will a 500-watt Power Station Last with a 200-watt Solar Panel?

Portable Power Stations can be charged with Solar Panels. With a fast recharge rate that can support pass through charging the solar panels adds onto the capacity allowing you to run your appliances for longer. This setup is what is referred to as a solar generator as you using power generated from the sun.

A 200-watt Solar panel can charge a 500Wh power station in around three hours. This will depend on the availability of sunlight. 3 hours of sunlight in an ideal situation should provide 600Wh enough to fully recharge the portable power station.

With this extra power from the solar panel going into the battery you can double the running time for your blender can be up to 2 hours consecutively.

Conclusion

You can run other devices on the power station especially because you will not be blending for extensive periods. Portable power stations also allow you to use your blender anywhere and you could be in your Kitchen or just outside. Most importantly power stations when paired with solar panels offer sustainable and independent energy solution.
